Spiced Hot Chocolate

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (60g if using chocolate bark)

  • 1/2 tsp ghee

  • 3 cups almond milk or regular dairy milk

  • 2 cloves

  • 3 tbsp cacao powder

  • 1 tsp dried ginger powder or 1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger

  • pinch sea salt

METHOD

  • In a microwave-proof bowl, mix chocolate chips and ghee. Heat it at 30 second intervals until fully melted.

  • In a saucepan, warm milk on medium heat. Add cacao powder and whisk rigorously to mix well.

  • Add cloves, ginger powder, sea salt and the melted chocolate chips, and give a whisk again to ensure a homogenous mixture. Continue heating for another 2-3 minutes, transfer to mugs and enjoy!
