This is your mama’s haldi doodh/ turmeric milk on NOS boosters. It’s immune boosting, helps resist stress and ghee which contains lauric acid, is known to be a potent anti-microbial and anti-fungal substance.

My grandpa made it a habit in our household to drink the morning milk with Ashwagandha. As I grew and left home, I forgot about the ritual and he reminded me again a few months ago fittingly with all the Covid stuff. I have introduced this new ritual nightcap to my routine as we step into the flu season - could be one of the most notorious I am told that we have seen in years.

Turmeric Milk Nightcap

Makes 1 cup, Ready in under 5 minutes

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1 cup Almond milk or any other milk/mylk

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp Ghee

  • 1/4 tsp Ashwagandha powder

  • pinch of black pepper powder

  • 1-3 saffron strands


METHOD

  • Warm the milk on the stove on medium heat.

  • Add all ingredients, except saffron and stir for 30 seconds.

  • Add the saffron strands, pour it in a mug and drink away to relaxing, nourishing and stress-free sleep 😴.
